Goin against the flow a little I think number 2 is looking great- I agree the & Co needs to be tied in a little closer but I really like the split in the letter form. in fact if you mess with it enough you can make the bottom half of the "S" look like your "F" also and that would be pretty neat. Letterforms like this take time tho so be patient. sleep on it for a week- show a bunch of people, look at it in a mirror, take it deep sea diving, dancing, talk dirty to it or whatever and see how it feels at the end. If time is on your side then don't be scared to use it.

I haven't read all the posts so don't know if anyone has already mentioned this... but the main 'S' and the bit underneath, some of them would look better if you changed the parts around.
Looks like you've moved them around to make them look bad on purpose.
