looking for some local/LA regulars advice on where to stay in the LA area for the QBN Sessions event. Been looking at the Santa Monica area of course because it appears to be the closest to The Getty; any recommendations for nice hotels in this area that aren't over $250/night? at this point considering the Holiday Inn right there... What about Hollywood/West Hollywood? Any good places to stay down there?

Check out Hotel Angeleno and the Luxe Sunset...both close enough to see the Getty, if not walk to it.
Luxe may be a little more pricey but Angeleno shouldn't be too bad.
Check them both out.

No problemo. It's a pretty cool place. Only a year or two old. It used to be a Holiday Inn and it's a rounded hotel. There's a restaurant/bar/lounge on the top floor called WEST that overlooks all of LA. Nice pool. They're one of my companies sponsors so we have a lot of events there.
Plus if you want to head into Hollywood, it's a cab ride or short drive down Sunset, which is where the hotel is located. 15 minutes east to Hollywood, 15 minutes west to Santa Monica.
