I don't like ripping people because they all put time in effort into their craft. And somewhere they all make their mother proud. :)

Paula Scher

I'd say skt, but calling him a designer just wouldn't be accurate...

sit at my feet ethered...
let the tale be told, though it's not very interesting. When I first signed up on NT many years ago, I wanted a name that would be more likely to make someone check out my site, so I used PaulRand. It seemed to work in the sense that Folkert posted it in the NTB that same day, with the comment "ahem, PaulRand"

I don't really like designers? I think theres some good ones whose work I like, but I don't personally like/dislike them.
Sag, Rand, Muller, all had good work, and all had bad work.
However, I'm not trying to suck any of them off anytime soon.

I like some of Milton Glaser's work, but most of it does absolutely nothing for me.
Also, I recognize that Wim Crouwel is very good at what he does and that he continues to influence contemporary typography...however, I have never gotten too stoked about anything I've ever seen from him.
I don't think it's been cool to be a Carson fan for quite some time now. I think he made an interesting contribution and that some of his stuff from the early/mid nineties (i.e. the NIN album) was interesting, but the guys is stuck in a time warp. I'd be interested to see if he is capable of practicing strong, traditional typography.

Since you brought it up...
While I can appreciate and admire the programming and technical nature of josh davis' work, I really don't care for the final resulting artwork.

all these dudes have done much more than all of us...most likely.
