Are there any good samples or links for proposal letters to send to potential clients? Please share...
Is it better to personalize them or create generic ones?
What have you used? Experiences?
thanks...

are you asking about the written version of cold-calling, dude? or something different?
- OSFA0
haha, yup, you can call it that. Cold mailing...
There are two companies that I really wanna get in touch with and I am pretty sure I could get them as clients and help. Got any ideas or links?

i have done this many, many times. in my experience, the best thing is to write a letter with genuine interest, skill and vision demonstrated, but leaving enough out they are hooked into wanting to at least listen to your pitch/concept.
i hav eno links to examples and just write them all as one-offs. i actually think about the recipient as a friend I know but have not talked to in a while for the tone and language; that helps me concentrate on the core message and not get caught up in minutial details that really are in the way to begin with.
just be you and write with conviction.
that's all i got.

thanks dude, I was thinking of personalizing them according to business and needs. Now I gotta get creative...

c'mon people, there has to be somebody that can help...

just sell yourself. you can't learn it from a sample. you learn it best from making your own mistakes.

"Hey (insert client name),
I've been thinking about you alot and I know that we have something special. I have a lot to offer to you that know other firm can. I hope I'm not being to aggressive but I just want to truly show my feelings. Well what I'm trying to get at is...
Well, will you be... will you be my client?(pop out your shiny contract)"
Hope that helps?!
- OSFA0
hahaha
I know it's a lame-ish question but I know some people here are more into solo freelance and thought they would share some tips...

a good printed postcard with visible contacts is less lame. it will surely be kept by your possible contractors, and they'll think about you if they are really need...
and it's always good intention

I totally hear ya OSFA. I'm a freelancer too but I haven't sent out marketing stuff yet. Luckily i've been getting work from word of mouth.
But I think a postcard then a follow up phone call would be best.
sidenote:

Thanks guys, momentum, it's an old Sony, discontinued now but I keep it because it's almost new and reliable. Besides, I spent almost a grand on it when it came out cuz I didn't know better...It's this one:
