KILLADELPHIA
Try to avoid all the bullets flying around the city, you might end up shooting victim 250 for 2007. If you can avoid the bullets while in Philly I recommend the following:
The Fairmount Water Works, a really cool interactive & interpretive center behind the Phila Museum of Art right on the river, its FREE.
In the Bella Vista & Queens Village section of the city, just south of South Street, plenty of great restaurants, bars and super hot girls. Unlike NYC the woman in Philly will actually have a conversation with you here and the streets are not filthy like NYC, they actually speak English in Philly as well!!!

Rand
(Aug 6 07, 05:24)I know this was not directed at me, but I currently have about 40-50 cuts on my stomach/chest from grass as we broke out a slip-n-slide on Saturday and I kept flying over the end of it (probably because it is designed to handle 8 year olds).
I look like I have been Mel Gibson'ed, haha.

drinking, were we?

We only know one way to do things, and that is to over do them.
...
So yes there was lots of drinking going on, haha.

Anyone know what Manayunk is like?
- ********0
a hilly, traditionally working class ('yunkers") area of rowhomes that transformed itself into a suburbanite destination for restaurants and shops in the past 20 years--no longer the most current scene in the area...
are you talking about for work, or for living?
- ********0
a few jobs we did to promote the area around 7 or 8 years ago:

Whenever I go to Philly I hang out in Manayunk.
It's not a bad place in the least. Union Jacks is there, and that is the best wings place I have ever eaten (tops Quaker Steak, I am sorry fellow Western PA'ers).
There are good dive bars, and their main street has a slew of bars, and restaurants (well hot dog/pizza places, haha) that are open quite late.
If I had to move to that G-d forsaken city, that is where I would move.
If you do the same, we'll get some drinks - I visit my friends (a slew of them live within a block of each other now, and they were all non-Philly people) an awful lot for someone who loves to make fun of Philadelphia.
My two cents. If you need more information (I imagine you do), let me know for like specifics or a more indepth look, I can ask them about some other stuff besides drinking.
Rand also lives in Philly, however, we have never crossed paths.
...
That we know of.
Nope, we have never crossed paths, haha.

Yeah, for living. I'm getting a bit ahead of myself I suppose but I gots ta dream!
Sounds like a great place though, I'm looking for somewhere with a 'center' if you know what I mean.
As long as there's a train heading downtown I'd be happy. I did pass the area on 76 last week and liked the look from afar.

No-one warned me about the size of the Penna Turnpike tolls either (that detail was missed off of my directions).
- ********0
Traffic fucking sucks if you are going into the city or airport, but you'll get used to it.
Pennsylvania Turnpike form what I hear is the worst in the States, but it is not that bad. Tolls are fine, whoever complains are poor.
They got a good train that comes pretty regularly so that will help you out.
If your dream is moving to Philly though, I would consult a psychiatrist first though.
Haha, just kidding ... a little bit.
Manayunk has a center, you could live there and only have to venture out for fun like once a week or so (depending on how ADD you are).
