(Jul 27 07, 12:44)i don't mean to sound an arrogant ass, but sorry i've never seen a media *helicopter* chase a stollen car or a celebrity convoy on anything but american TV.
actually kinda surprising this hasn't happened already.

oh...i see...since you have never seen one then it must mean it never happens...

.. umm i watch my local/national news every night?
whatever. if anything i hope this event gets people talking about the obvious air-safety issues.
i'll save my issues with wasted fuel and carbon footprints for another day.
happy weekend. over'n'out.

thats weird..
I was sitting in traffic yesterday watching 2 helicopter and thought to myself "its a wonder helicopters dont run into each other on a regular basis."
hmm.
I hope this isnt my fault.

I'm not sure how many media copters actually are outside of London and you wouldn't get a car chase in London, I agree with Horton you just don't get them in the UK we're only small, however I bet you get them in like japan and canada and such....actually probably not japan...

(Jul 27 07, 14:03)no none in canada that i have seen... rarely even see a police helicopter in pursuit.
i'm guessing the media copters are probably not allowed to get involved.

oops for some reason I thought you were in London horton.... weird!! I guess not then in Canada, I'd imagine there is a law like that in Britain no media copters can follow, however America has a great team spirit with regards to things as a nationality I can't think of any others who get behind their team, I'd imagine this is why copters are tolerated. It is however stupid and a shame at the same time.

that news channel should step back and ask themselves..
did these reporters die for any noble cause?
Was it THAT important for society to get real-time live coverage of this car chase - by 2 different fucking helicopters?
who is benefiting from this crappy news anyway, the people watching tv? or the power teet that decides what news is newsworthy?
that is why i am saying.. screw the boo-hoo.. these guys died for some shitty cause that they felt was SOOO righeous.
the world - 3 tv reporters = better

In Canada our news agencies don't have helicopters. We rarely get high speed chases here anyway.

they just show up everytime my friends decide to throw a massive party

my friend took the photo of the helicopters crashing to the ground. He were heading to lunch and he was riding on the passenger side and that's why he was able to snap the shot.

almost laughable.

(Jul 27 07, 12:27)uh huh..
painful but an absurd truth..
media behaviour causes bigger news
also, stop with pulling an OJ on each fucking police chase, as if we do this here in Europe as well.. grow up, US.

" The police chief said the suspect will likely face criminal charges for the deaths in the helicopter crash."
that is just wrong.

Well maybe they should be charging the subscribers to the police chase news service as well then?
BBC News: "The BBC's David Willis in Los Angeles says police pursuits are fertile material for many US TV stations and have proved popular with viewers.
In Los Angeles, a service exists whereby viewers, in return for a monthly subscription, are paged every time a pursuit is being shown. "
