(Jul 27 07, 12:30)is it really necessary to chase car chases with helicopters just so people can watch this crap at home?
like something straight outta the simpsons or a spoof on american media-obsessed culture.
yes cost of human life and families affected is sad.

i'm really on the fence about this.
on one side of the coin, i feel bad that those three people lost their lives. i really do.
but on the other i feel it's an ironic twist of fate. every morning i watch the local news and the traffic lady in her little helicopter focuses less and less on the traffic and more and more on the accidents, racing to the scene of each making sure to be the first person to get live close up views of the wreckage. even faster when there is a report of a fatality. and i can't help but think to myself, holy god, right now there is some poor fucking bastard watching tv who recognizes that car as their wifes, or their hustbands, or their fathers, who just found out from the news bitch that their loved one is dead. she shows no remorse, just glad her helicopter is hovering over head feeding us the bad news.
it's really a damn shame they race to the scene like that, all fighting to show you that shot. fuck. would it be too far out there to imagine that the news reporters following the chase were hoping for the guys car to crash to help boost their ratings? well they got a crash alright.
and before anyone jumps on my case, one morning about 2 months ago the traffic lady was reporting a rollover with a fatality on i355 like it was nothing. the problem was the suv was a white jeep liberty matching almost exactly that of my wifes. and my heart absolutely dropped when i first saw it thinking it was her. and i was so mad because she was more interested in the delay and getting the live feed than she was for the person in the car, as i watched franticly calling my wife to make sure she was ok.
so. i think i just went to one side of the fence.
