send additional invoices, marked "past due". send them certified, return receipt requested. after that, you sort of have to wait a reasonable time to get paid, and then you can maybe call a collections agency.
it sucks, but sometimes you get shafted like that. there's about $4k of work out there which i've never been paid for. i just wrote it off and learned to write better contracts.

This might sound creepy but it works.
Start calling him, find his home number if he doesn't pick up at the office, stop by his house, tell his wife you are stopping by to get past due money for freelance work. Call incessantly. Don't ever defame him, keep it civil, make it known you will not be letting it slide, but dont be threatening.
