Hmm it was like 4 or 5 years ago but I think it's an 8 mile round trip hike. Some stream crossings and whatnot, probably 2 - 3 hours uphill and then 2 down...maybe a tad longer. I smoked back then too.

tommyo, that Zion flickr photoset was the Narrows. It was a 16 mile hike, 75% of which involved being in a damn river; anyway, we destroyed that hike in less than 8 hours. Is this hike on par with that? If so, I guess I need to get to LA at 6a or change my plan of attack

not my photoset, but i do know he is using lightroom to treat the photos.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Oh man.
Okay, well my white sage's cloak of cunnilingus is at the cleaners...so I might be wearing normal people clothes if that's cool. K I'll see what's up with the work schedule. That hike I recommended is pretty long - so you might want to pick something different if you plan on being back in the city by the afternoon.

who can tell me how to do that effect to the pics on the flickr page that v5 posted:

here's the deal:
• Friday around 9am, hope to be hitting a trail
• Friday afternoon, check into a hotel (have yet to make reservations) eat lunch, and do whatever
• Friday night whatever, but it better include a lot of alcohol and some Laguna Beach 90210 Swingers style house party or something
• Saturday afternoon- attending a, err, uh function *cough (WoW guild BBQ)
• Saturday night - see Friday night

Cool man. I'll check the schedule here and see what's up. You guys are hiking on Fri though? Or Sat? I'm confused.

If my wife is a 6'5" dude named Vince, well, uh...
http://www.flickr.com/photos/poi…so hell no, not a private affair. I'm up for whatever that Friday and even possibly that Saturday night.

You going on Friday? I might be down to go with if I can get out of work. Let me know if that's cool or if this is a private affair with your lady.

ill be in lala land labor day weekend...do i need a car?

As far as hikes go:
Anything in Santa Monica mountains is nice. Easy access is Temescal Canyon in pompous Pacific Palisades. Eagle Rock in Malibu is pleasant and Sycamore Cove up at county line is desolate too.

I went on a hike to this bridge a few years ago. It was pretty incredible. Basically they built this bridge and most of a highway, then a big flood came and washed a lot of the road out. By then they had already started a big freeway nearby so they scrapped the highway project and left this gorgeous bridge intact and untouched.

any one that isn't a member of the 3 Stooges have any recommendations?
- tommyo0
Yeah I did! We're like brothers from different mothers Greg and I. He's just a tad (a lot I mean) bigger and scarier (when he's got his beard).

tommy didn't mean it, he's just mad that no one has as much honkiness as him
- tommyo0
Cause I called you a Honky?

unfortunately I spoke with tommyo on the phone this morning and plan on avoiding doing that again anytime in the near future...
