what the hell is there to do?
• looking to hike somewhere during the day; I'd like a semi-challenging trail
• looking to hang out a great bar, lounge, or club (maybe) that night
• casual/semi-casual restaurants with good eats?haven't booked a hotel room yet as I'm trying to figure what it is I want to do first, and then just stay in that general area.
If you can help it would be greatly appreciated.

I think the big thing to do in LA is drive around in your car. So I wouldn't rent a hotel, just a car and just drive around.
- tommyo0
hAhahahahahah robotron has some definite experience with LA
- akoni0
he left out the part about getting in the car but not actually moving, especially if you are on the 405...
better hit tommyo and I up mang.

unfortunately I spoke with tommyo on the phone this morning and plan on avoiding doing that again anytime in the near future...
- tommyo0
Cause I called you a Honky?
- akoni0
tommy didn't mean it, he's just mad that no one has as much honkiness as him
- tommyo0
Yeah I did! We're like brothers from different mothers Greg and I. He's just a tad (a lot I mean) bigger and scarier (when he's got his beard).

any one that isn't a member of the 3 Stooges have any recommendations?

I went on a hike to this bridge a few years ago. It was pretty incredible. Basically they built this bridge and most of a highway, then a big flood came and washed a lot of the road out. By then they had already started a big freeway nearby so they scrapped the highway project and left this gorgeous bridge intact and untouched.

As far as hikes go:
Anything in Santa Monica mountains is nice. Easy access is Temescal Canyon in pompous Pacific Palisades. Eagle Rock in Malibu is pleasant and Sycamore Cove up at county line is desolate too.

You going on Friday? I might be down to go with if I can get out of work. Let me know if that's cool or if this is a private affair with your lady.

Cool man. I'll check the schedule here and see what's up. You guys are hiking on Fri though? Or Sat? I'm confused.

here's the deal:
• Friday around 9am, hope to be hitting a trail
• Friday afternoon, check into a hotel (have yet to make reservations) eat lunch, and do whatever
• Friday night whatever, but it better include a lot of alcohol and some Laguna Beach 90210 Swingers style house party or something
• Saturday afternoon- attending a, err, uh function *cough (WoW guild BBQ)
• Saturday night - see Friday night
