Right, I will use AS3 and the command line when using Flash 8 with animations being provided for me that have been made on the time line.
I'm certain the pixel animators will be happy to learn how to program what with it not being in their job description.

use as3 and the command line compiler that will stop u having crashes.

i get it when loading images in... probably coz i;m using an age old method... but have been swatting up... so better now!

what are you doing when flash crashes? is it consistant? PC or Mac?
Only time flash has crashed for me is poorly constructed AS, and one project last year that had some crazy problem, that macromedia couldn't figure out either, all they said was... maybe if you upgrade it will solve the problem.

flash has never, ever crashed on me, -ever-... and i can guarantee you i'm doing much more intensive actionscript programming than you are.
either you're on a fucking shit-ass Mac, or you just don't deserve to use flash.

I suggest writing longer rants when you're on a deadline..

boz, your shit fucking sucks, and if you're crasing flash, it's because your computer is either a douchebag, or because you're an unbelievably fucking crappy programmer.

for that matterBut on the real, I think it's a computer issue/conflict, have you tried other machines?

Jesus Christ, lots of love here eh?
I actually saw some of Boz' work a couple years ago (I think it was close to the time that splash page went up) and he does pretty intense flash work...so my guess is that he's a pretty busy dude (which is why he has no time to work on his own site) and also probably fairly knowledgeable in terms of Flash. I could be wrong, who knows.
I think Flash can work well on some machines and work shitty on others .. I know that CS3 fixed all of my problems - but Flash 8 body slammed me daily.

tommyo is far from wrong... as a matter of fact... he's spot-on. ;)

works dope.

blah blah blah, typical mac vs. pc bullshit.
i use both platforms. they both crash. and more likely then not (as someone said earlier) it is because i tend to leave my programs on overnight (on both platforms) for several days on end. i consider it both efficient and lazy at the same time...just depends on what day it decides to crash out.
but as i said in my previous post, as long as you 'save and compact' every once in a while, your files should never corrupt.
i'm really waiting for all you fuckers to start whining about your push button cars (yeah, the ones that are already out there) crashing, and you can't get away from the thing that you love to hate so much: your job and your workspace.
:D

I agree Boz... its a shitely written app... even moving a windpw can cause it to feck up.

can i help at all, boz?
- waynepixel0
Well it was never a good thing for us, the people, that adobe got there hands on Macromedia. Where is the competition know?
QUARK anyone.

I must be lucky, haven't had a problem since flash 4 when file used to currupt
- deephoot0
I've also noticed that if I leave it open overnight, my machine is unresponsive the next morning. (PC)

boz is right. flash is buggy as hell. the flash player itself is a pos.
- canuck0
you just don't deserve to use flash.
