Yikes, I dropped my MBP today, didn't even realise that it damaged my MBP till I came to use the USB port. The port has a dent in it has put a dent in the lid. My USB devices now don't seem to fir in the socket.
I am totally devastated, I got in touch with the company I bought it from (John Lewis) in the UK, they say there is nothing they can do and that I should find a dealer who can repair it.
Can it be repaired?
Thanks
Lee

You try gently pushing the port back into place with a pair of needlenose pliers?

i did what rod said
if its only little bit than yes, if its like mine, it broke off
started to use firewire after

Yes, perhaps you could try to mold it back into place somehow, although don't do anything to risk your warranty. If you have a warranty.

don't fuck it up, take it to a dealer. I dropped mine too 10 days ago. now I do have a big bump on the corner and power adapter port. luckily it still works but I feel a general slowness. it sucks.

seems like everyone on here is either dropping or immersing their Macs in water...
I dropped my MBP, dented corner, warped USB port area, but it still works... Your best option really if you are dealing direct with Apple is ask them to find all defects whether from the drop or whatever, and to quote for bringing it back to fully warranty-able status..(i.e that thyey cant ever charge you for anything related to the drop again). Thats how I've done it before with damage from drops/spillage (which I seem to do on each laptop)
