what do you aim for?

or is there another way to figure out what to tell my client to compress these to?
They are showcasing their on-air photography+design stuff so it needs to be rather crisp.
any suggestions?

Get as high as possible from them - do the compression yourself and offer multiple versions for users.
P.s. To reach the mass audience, I generally go with 15FPS, 96kbs. You may want to up both those if you want high quality. Dimensions are going to be one of the biggest contributors to file size.
