is there a way to mirror my local files with my remote server files? ex: while editing a site i'd like the changes to affect both the local and remote. eh?

why not just edit on the server?

id rather test on my local server before making changes live.

your "ex:" doesn't make it sound like that if you are wanting changes in one place to affect both locations
maybe i'm not understanding the question
did those templates work out for you?

There is a sync feature. so, you could edit locally and then sync up your server

essentially i want my server files to mirror my local files w/o having to do it manually. or is this the only way? thanks for the link. i may use one of those templates.

If you're using dreamweaver you can set it to upload/snyc files when you save. Don't know if that's what you mean though?

I'm using that lil arrow beneath the locally edited files to upload - works ok :)

I emailed Panic about having a "sync local and remote" function - they said it's in their todo list for a future release.
For now you just have to select everything in your local site, click upload and pay special attention to the dates when you're given the "overwrite?" dialogue box.

In dreamweaver, you can use your uploading server as your "testing server" in you "define site" options. This updates local and remote files at same time however I have found bugs and sometimes files don't upload for some strange reason. My advice is keep with just testing on your local then upload or just sync...
