yo (mt) fix the email issue. I'm sick of rereceiving these spams
inbox: 1047 resent emails

Dreamhost are a much better solution than godaddy from reviews I've read.
- Momentum20
Dang so its freaking sloooww?? GRRRR
Should I go with
dreamhost.com then?
or
godaddy.com?

Been using (mt) for 3 years. I was very happy using the (SS) but then I migrated to the Grid last month.
Slooooow, don't get emails sometimes...looking for a reliable host...any ideas?
- v3nt0
if your using sql + php you will encounter long waits! which really pissed our clients off, then us and then we tried our best to piss mt off. So we got a few free months to try out a dedicated virtual which is sweet and we're transfering all our other accounts and credit to that one... Support is pretty useless still - esp with plesk...

Max, I haven't really looked into who they get servers from but the last one I signed upto for a client was http://dc-hosting.com/ I only went with them because my asp developer has used 'em before and he knows how there system works.
Having siad tht there site is very slow on my peuny (?sp) 56k. But I have had No problems with them

Re: UK hosts. I also have a VPS with http://www.34sp.com - a company that work from Manchester with space in a datacentre in London.
They're an excellent company and also do shared and business packages - give em a shot!

We actually just cancelled our mosso account because of consistent downtime. We had 3 dev sites on our account and one live (low traffic) site. Amazing support, service sucked. We actually just switch to mt w/ a mysql container and haven't had any issues except for slow load times.

I dont feel the need to be too patriotic considering $2 = £1 !! but also cant risk being let down. Have you found a true UK host Dancer - most I have seen are just reselling services from bigger European providers
- fyvp0
I switched to http://www.mosso.com for my client sites, but still hold a (dv) dedicated virtual server with mt, which is running great.
They're a good company at heart, and I've met some of the people that work there - they're genuinely smart and dedicated. I'm sure they'll sort any niggles out in time.

On SS here. Haven't moved, won't move and next off I'm gonna go with a UK host. Dunno why just feel liking helping my own. Little like Sainsburys and it's "local food" :)

thanks for the reponses, i still on the pre-grid system (SS) and the reason I ask is to see if the old problems had been resolved...looks like thats not happening tho.
- mimeartist0
Leave, leave now... I had a big client on it at the moment and it is stable now but painfully slow... so will be moving it shortly... hopefully to coincide with the new design.
- Momentum20
so if I'm going to do a lot of work with CMS... the grid was a bad idea?
how about godaddy?
- mbr0
The only reason I've stayed with them is that I have 100gbs for $20 month.
I haven't had a problem in, what, about 2 weeks now?
The old hosting they have (not on the grid) works fine.
- mrdobolina0
why bother?
- material-10
honestly how many times do I need to see the same emails(or multiples of the same emails)?
- clearThoughts0
I think the problem with Mts Grid Server Tech, is that it is painfully slow.
particularly with mySql queries...
or maybe its just me, but I had a site on there, build with a CMS, and the amount of time it would take to load the first page, was just ridiculous
- mitee_0
yeah i created an account with MT in january and was nothing but problems and headaches, down servers, delayed emails, etc etc. switched to dreamhost about 2 months ago and its been nothing but smooth sailing.

also do a search for "media temple"...there have been many complaints
