As far as the difference between a mamiya 7 and a 7II there isn't much, it's a very similar camera. One note..these cameras DO NOT focus closely at all, so if you are doing alot of close up portraits it's not the camera for you, min focus is like 5 feet depending on lens

my camera dealer thinks this is one of the best medium format camera built and that they hold their value very well..oh also the lenses tend to be very expensive.

thanks for the info tim, I'm not really into close-up photography, and besides, I've got equipment for that :) The problem is the fact that they hold their value, I guess I'll just have to be on the lookout, there must be a nice deal around somewhere.

again, thanks for the help people... I bought one yesterday on ebay, I was lucky enough to find a 7 with a 65mm lense. Can't wait till it arrives
