What do I do?
- neue75_bold0
it's pretty cool, I'd be inclined to leave it up...

I would contact the service provider and try to get them to fix it asap, and try to get a free month or some kind of deal for having insecure systems.
Good Luck Ben.

hehehe
has this got anything to do with the russia-estonia thing?
(i know its a turkish flag but still)

Probably just ur index page.
Aside from yelling at your hosting company (and u should), you might wanna' look into any programs/applications you're running that may be vunerable...
like WordPress or other login/registration stuff.

Your site fixed yet? It looks good now...
- bcline0
yeah i fixed it, but tracked the bastard down....
i wrote i blog post about it
http://bencline.net/blog/2007/05…
it seemed to be just the index page, but of course i was worried that my identity could be stolen or something along those lines.

just because your site got hacked doesn't make it your hosting providers fault as they can protect the system only so far. many times the cause is a script or app you're running that contained the vulnerability. the same goes for sql injection vulnerabilities that you must protect yourself against... not your host.
just a thought before you go yelling at your host ;)

(May 19 07, 11:46)i actually haven't yelled at my host yet. but i did e-mail who i think is the hacker's e-mail, lets just say there were few choice words in that note ;)

well that was clever and grown up as I am sure they are now very scared and won't do it again ... or maybe they've added you to their list for future hacking.
Only history will tell!
- oldelpaso0
they've added you to their list for future hacking.

(May 19 07, 15:43)lol thats what i was thinking

You suppose that list for future hacking is in Excel? That's how I'd keep track.
- ribit0
ooh I think they'd use Exchange... to set Tasks with schedule reminders:
"ToDo: Hack bencline.net again, repeating task, every 24 hrs". "Due in 3 days". "Delegate to teams", "Dismiss", "Snooze" etc

(May 19 07, 17:35)i don't think that's where it takes place, but don't give them any ideas.
