Would anyone know how to produce the angled line treatment seen in the background image of the following website?

Nobody?

I think you can get the effect converting the image into bitmap format and setting it to halftone screen (shape:line) or something similar.
Play around with the bitmap settings.

Hmmm... will do...
Thanks guys...

That looks like cutline to me
- tyranisus0
Cutline has a few different options, like crosshatch or wavy, and you can control the direction of the hatches - I'm sure you could get this exact look with that plug in

scriptographer

cutline!
- CALLES0
create a bunch of diagonal lines... mask... tranfer and fuck with it... create create!
- tyranisus0
how the hell is that supposed to work? mask what? create create . . . explain explain.
- Nairn0
I remember seeing a tutorial on this a few years ago - I'll see if I can dig it out.
It's more along Calles' lines, I think - nothing scripted nor filtered.

there are hundreds of ways to do most things in photoshop, people are informed by what they already know.
Who cares how it's done as long as it looks how you want in the end.

Apparantly, the guy who asked this question.
- Nairn0
Well, he cares how its done if he's trying to learn how to do it, eh?
- lando0
yeah, scriptographer
- smith_barry0
Yes, I am curious as to how it's done...
I've been playing around with Scriptographer but it seems to take an awful long time to draw the lines & it's really hit or miss as to how it comes out... also, it seems to work only once or twice before crashing & then I've to restart Illustrator...
I'll keep playing around with it...
But otherwise I have downloaded a trial version of Cutline to see what it's like...

I'm still waiting for the diagonal lines, mask, mess with it, create, create explanation.
- Nairn0
patience, tyranisus!
I've just found the psd file I did ages ago when I was messing around, and I must say it's not helped at all - there're quite a few deleted layers and channels.
Another problem is, it's from back in 2002, so there's no hope of finding the accompanying bookmark either.
Will try and work it out now though.

before you convert to bitmap and use halftoning option (with lines)...feather the image slightly (or more for more effect)...that'll give you the thick and thin lines when you apply halftone with lines.

Michael Halbert has some nice step by step tutorials to get the effect your looking to do. Check it out:
