Aye Market Bar is good but mainly for the fairly cheap tapas. Not really a place where you'd wanna stay for the evening.
How about Mulligans of Poolbeg st (behind the screen cinema) best Guinness in Dublin (or so im told) and they have a strict no mobile phone policy. Or the Stags head off Dame st.
The globe is pretty cool or Bia bar but they get pretty loud of a friday night.
Dunno about relaxing the late license, the govt think it would have too detrimental an effect on the Irish populace. Yet it works on the continent. Go figure...

Mulligans.. I'll try that Ian, thanks. Why I never went to Stag's Head remains a mystery to me, I was close to do so a million times. Biá bar is a very good one.
There is this place on William St South, not sure what it's called (South William??).. glass facade and palm-like plants in front.. I always wanted to give it a try.

(May 16 07, 03:05)Haha.. not a long way home from siné for you!
A friend moves out of a lovely 1bed apt with a river view on this quay today.. I would've taken it if it weren't for the sea view I have now in Howth

My local was "Tommy Flynn's", recently renamed to .. *swallows, shits pride* "Phibbers".
Or there's the good ol' Coronet, just up the road, "one of the most depressing pubs we've ever reviewed". I couldn't say I disagree - it's like a gas chamber for old people. I kind of like it.

yup, riz, i'm between petticoat lane and spitalfields market. the castle is dangerous. especially as i tend to run with a pack of wild irish lesbians when i'm there...

Aye its quite the short stagger home! And a nice view of the Liffey from the sitting room, but sure you have the sea outside your place!
There's closer bars but just not as cool. Try the South William, Ive only been in on a St. afternoon but well worth a visit. Go there for lunch someday and sample one of their pies, so tasty! Rare for a decent pub to do good food too!

Wild Irish lesbians? Sounds interesting!

Wild Irish lesbians?
Could be a URL in that.
- paraselene0
they're very tall and loud. lovely lovely girls, though. and a good laugh.
also, my husband is kind of a wild irish lesbian, in his own way.
they live on the district line so we meet at aldgate east and go to the castle. :)
