If you pay attention to MSN's Week in Pictures you will see that each year they pick best of the year and the editors alway pic images that show human death, suffering or what-not people do to each other while the vieweres always pic prosaic images of nature...

that site does not have enough background to the images.
The balcony image started a debate about sensationalism in the press and some readers turned hostile towards the apparent invasion on the woman who died (the child lived). The press defended the right to report the news as it happened. As a result of teh photo, cities across america vigorously inspected fire escape safety and building exits.
This is a great book that has a timeline of all these images.

mind you people, i am not criticizing the photographs, nor the (brave) photographers.
just all these books that seem to pop up here and there with all sorts of horror photographs of all kinds of disasters.
sometimes i get cynical about it.

good.

i can see the use of shock regarding war and starvation etc.
just not some of the others..

(May 11 07, 07:17)The few on that site are high in shock value. I felt it was worth pointing out that the full book has all sorts of pictures, not just shock value ones.

sad and good to see such reality
- madirish0
but these are all documented events, not done for the sake of 'shock', janne.

JESUS CHRIST.
thanks for that.
i find it rather perverted looking at all these, and so goes for anyone else. what's the point of seeing people fall from collapsed stairs??
