POWEBOOK HELP!

hey...
my powerbook was running out of memory when it kind of froze. After a few minutes I had to force restart. When it reboot it's stuck on the grey screen with apple and spinning wheel thing, and would never go further from there.
im sure this has happened to a few of us. can someone offer advice before i spend a few hundred for people just to check on it??

running out of memory? do you mean your hard drive is full?
try starting up in safe mode, press and hold shift key.

i think its out of ram cus i was working with a very large file.
ithink i tried opening in shift but didn't work but ill try agian.

Try unplugging and taking out the battery for 20 seconds, usually helps.

if you have a powerbook and it won't load up past the apple symbol, you could switch your ram.

check that out. i had the same symptoms and it ended up being that the lower memory slot on my powerbook was broken.

does it work to startup using the system disc ?
