Religion is a mental disease usually brought on by infection by the group VI reverse transcribing DNA virus called faith. Symptoms involve believing something just because someone (or occasionally a book), somewhere, says it's true. In this respect faith can be considered the chronic form of the lesser mental disorder gullibility. For synonyms, see How To Make a Million Dollars. The official catch phrase of religion is "Give us your money, and you will have a good afterlife!".
Other symptoms involve donation of money to higher powers (also known as televangelists), participation in holy wars, paraphilic arousal towards guilt, lack of sense of humour, sticks protruding from the anus, and spontaneous combustion.
It is commonly believed that religion is also able to manipulate one's personallity/point of view in such a way that the infected individual believes, and often inflicts upon others, the idea that masturbation is evil, and that homosexuals are pure, undiluted evil and deserve no rights.

You admit you haven't read his work properly, so therefore you cannot judge his 30+ years work as a scientist that has earned him his position as one of the most important living intellectuals.

Brookoi: Dawkins has earned his esteemed chair (by people who share his philosophical views) because he is good at explaining complicated things pertaining to Zoology. Period.

absolutely true and totally scientific theory that the Universe is so mind-bogglingly complex that it could only have been designed and constructed by an equally, if not more complex, "Intelligent Designer", whom we shall call the "Creator". It might be the Christian God ...but it might not, and we're not telling! That's what makes it scientific.
Please note, in reverence to the Christian God, Intelligent Designer should always be capitalized.
This Creator might not have been a creator at all, but rather a committee of creators. Therefore the official theory makes absolutely no reference to a Christian God. In fact, the theory was run through a word processor which also checked for all common misspelllings, so this is an absolute certain fact!
