yeah + i imagine that theaupoo would have soeme mad lip-rip if u were to stick ur hand out of the wave to take a photo u would totally get sucked over the falls...
i saw some of those pics wendog put up of NY in st.paddys day - GNARLY!!!!
ive been for a couple of LUSCIOUS days of blue skies, hot weather, warm(ish) waters, and 3ft glassy surf... uber consistent..

the water is too cold in the atlantic when the waves get a decent swell. you got to do it in the middle of winter to get anything as the sandy bottom doesnt give too much to surf with...
i hear you and i miss it...been over 14 years since i been on a board...i miss the feeling of the wax on my toes...

I think someone broke is leg or ankle in this. Still some of the biggest wipeouts you'll ever see. They say it's top3 of the biggest swell to ever it Teahupoo.
The competition is not finished, it was called off yesterday because of ‘Code Red’ Seas. They only made 3 heats out of the round 2. Still a lot of action to come.

Really like watching this. Sometimes it's hard for me to decide if surfing or snowboarding is a more envied sport. These guys all seem like they're living a constant vacation in surfing; snowboarding doesn't always seem like that. Surfers like this get to be in remote places far from major cities or mass tourism, hang out on boats all day, surf, and just have a good time. It seems like one of the more excellent lives to lead as far as individual professional sports go.

Saw an iMax movie with Kelly Slater at Teahupoo hanging out with some local friends...crazy stuff. Tons of people have been killed, mainly due to the shallow water and the reef not too far from the surface.
