As weird as that sounds, it's true, I was working like I usually am then all of a sudden a loud bang! I though it was the surge protector until i saw smoke coming out of my mac. I called support and search online and apparently it has happened to other G5 users with dual/quad core machines. It'll be out of service for a couple of days which sucks cause all my work is stored there. Now I'm on my pc which I don't mind but....(burst out crying like a little school girl)

I can't afford a new one, besides, I'm more worried about my work files than the computer itself.
And no it was not porn overload, I have way much more porn in my iBook and it runs just fine :)

I've check mac support forums and it seems it's not an unusual problem with dual/quad core G5s, so becareful if you're thinking of buying one.
On the other hand, I also use a Dell pc which has worked just fine since I bought it a year ago.
One thing I like about pcs is the fact that if a piece of hardware fucks up you can just go and buy a new piece at your local electronics store whereas Macs...well...you can't do that.

damn...that sucks man. i had a dream that i had to leave my mac somewhere in a park or something i don't know why, but when i came back to get it, it was all hacked into, the memory was taken, the video card, i think that they left the hard drive but it was gutted.
it was the worst dream ever.

If it really did die of some kind of heat thing then they should replace for free. That is risk of burning down your home. Make them give you a new one.
