this is a very good example of the real economic cost to humanity of climate change. there's an amazing extra disc on planet earth box set which talks about this (among many other things).
some eggheads sat down and figured how much it would cost us to pollinate all of our crops on our own, without the free service that bees and other animals/insects provide us and it's upwards of 2 billion pounds per year...
