All in one Printer:
I have been an avid EPSON user, but just recently killed my 1280. (had it 3 years and the last time I couldn't find its native ink I bought generic, and it killed it). My interest has been peaked by the new HP printers.
What are your suggestions.
My needs are as follows:
print family photos up to letter size, scan, copy and even fax.I have a glut of EPSON media, will this work with HP's machines?

I like Epson's logo better.

There is that big hp that looks pretty impressive, I was thinking about getting that against the epson 2200.

1. manufacturers essentially give the printer away and make all of their money on the consumables
2. HP programs "end of life" into some of their printers, meaning once they output n number of pages, they cease to function

i've got the epson r2400.
damn fine machine!

got an HP 6310, it's pretty nice. Got not problems with it. I normally prefer epson, but i'd buy this one again.

i personally don't like epson anymore. the ink tends to dry out and clog the heads pretty quickly. i've turned in a canon printer user myself.
but you can use epson paper on any printer. ive used epson paper (matte heavyweight) on my canon i9900 and haven't had any problems.

i second the canon. i have a canon i9000(the previous version to the 9900) and it is fantastic.
i used to love epson until the last one i bought...just stopped working after 6 months.

i've heard great things about that canon... better than epson and hp...
... go that route!

Thank you all kindly, funny that Canon came up, it has the best reviews on Macworld and the consumer reports. Hopefully a Mac user reviewed it.
