Not having kids I can't put myself in his shoes so I don't know how I'd ever talk to an 11 year old, but I'd never swear at my kid like that or call her a pig.
But hey, this is a Hollywood family here, those types are all fucked up.

Sorry, kelpie, but I know what it's like to be sworn at for years, and you lose respect for that person after a while. You are scared of that person (which maybe they want), but you have no problems with disrespecting them because of the way they treated you.
While I don't have any problems with calling a child out, punishing them, being a bit more strict, etc, I won't be calling them names or consistently swearing.
It actually IS better to say, "spilling milk is stupid", rather than "you're stupid for spilling milk".
