Yea me too OSFA, I finally caught their 24/7 show last nite and have to say ...
That almost took it all away from me.
I think mostly it is other people around me who are getting me kind of excited.
There has not been this much buzz since Tyson/Lewis.
I made a boat load that nite. And look forward to doing the same tomorrow.

Speaking of "been a long time since I cared about a fight..."
This is pretty much the only marquee even boxing will have in a decade.
There's an interesting article (actually it's a shitjacked ignorant article by a fool of a journalist) on cbs sportsline.com by a guy named Mike Freeman.
He wrote this article trying to talk up the fight, but all he did was use it as a venue to bash MMA and the UFC into the ground with this totally ignorant tirade about it.
http://www.sportsline.com/column…The comments were filling up their message board and e-mail box, and there's a new colum where he responds to it:
http://www.sportsline.com/column…If you're looking for an hour or two to waste today, read the original article, read the message board posts at the bottom, and read the response article.
Anyhow, UFC is a huge threat to boxing. I've read several articles saying that this fight is pretty much it as far as any huge fight goes for boxing for years to come.

De la Hoya man. I'd like him to school this Mayweather bitch in like first 3 rounds and then stick that 50 cents up his ass where he belongs while they both roll out on that segway fagway shit.
- CP120
"DeLaHoya is well past his prime...
Consider he's being trianed by Mayweather's estranged father.
Looks to me like Oscar's got a right good beating comming his way..."
I second this.

"Consider he's being trianed by Mayweather's estranged father."
not for this fight. That was some time back.
- OSFA0
yup, he fired his ass!
he then tried to train his son, but he was not welcomed there either.. :(
- CP120
"not for this fight. That was some time back."
Im sure Mayweather didnt like it though...

Mayweather senior words on that HBO special:
If you throw a challenge at Oscar, you're throwin a challenge at me too...
DLH the said he had to let him go because he wouldn't have the passion since it was his son...
hahaha it's like a soap opera...

Mayweather wins but the match was completely De la Hoya man.
Bullshit, Mayweather was like a bitch running around and standing doing nothing and whatever punch he threw he hit but regardless De la Hoya was giving us something to watch.
Oscar said it well "If I wasn't throwing punches there would be no fight".
I say this was Oscar's win, though he lost the jab in the 10th, 11th and 12th round.
I hope there's a rematch so he can wipe the floor with this little black bitch and his 50 cent segway fagway asshat.
If that's how you box, run away around the ring 10 rounds and win by points. Lame as shit.

If you know boxing, it was decided correctly.
Oscar looked like a windmill.

oscar had like 6 corner fluries to the body. the rest was all defense. lost his jab. pretty lame overall. big promotion payday fight. meh

Mayweather. Cunt. Period.
Mexican colors, music, cocksucker, gangsta rap attitude... arsehole of the highest order. I hope he gets hurt... next time.

i don't know if i agree with that decision. delahoya won from where i was sitting. mayweather has a cool style but he didn't seem to be doing much. apart from that beauty at the end of the 10th round.
- jondj240
to all those who watched the fight and thought the decision was wrong, please watch it again. Mayweather wasn't running, he was boxing...he was strategic and precise. While De La Hoya through a lot of misses, and looked nervous and sloppy.
Mayweather landing 48% of his punches is clinic. As soon as De La Hoya stopped using the jab, it was downhill for him.
I really dislike Mayweather's attitude on things too but in the ring he transforms into a smart, calculated and defensive minded boxer. I scored it 116-112.

Goodnight boxing! Have a nice life on the outskirts of mainstream sports. You have no heavyweights, no big names other than the two people who fought last night and even if I weren't a big MMA and UFC fan, I would still respect and accept the fact that MMA offers something far more interesting and exciting to watch than the "art and science" of boxing.
Jim Lampley better be as far away from the HBO UFC PPV if that ends up happening, because he's an idiot, gives MMA athletes no credit whatsoever.
It pisses me off to no end that people like that think Boxing is some superior sport - the funny thing is, the argument is irrelevant - it's just that they are so threatened to see something like MMA become popular. Sad!

MEXICANS LOVE MAYWEATHER!!
HE IS THE GREATEST!!!
HAHAHHAHAHAHHAH!!

Also, Pretty Boy did exactly what I thought he would.
Completely dismantle De La Hoya.
Anyone who did not see this coming from a mile away is/was an imbecile, haha.

Just watched most of the rounds on YouTube. Pretty boring..neither guy did anything to win, just enough to make sure they didn't lose. Mayweather looked sharper overall, DeLaHoya was more aggressive, but he looked gassed half the time as it wore on. While I appreciate the chess match and technique, it was not an exciting fight.
This fight doesn't save boxing. The sweet science is over - too one dimensional, too much corruption, too dangerous, no interesting personalities.
Put a spork in it, Pride and UFC will own Vegas in five years.
