Enter response: Mr. D, great response with Momofuku. That place is awesome and not pretentious. Another place is THE ELEPHANT near 1st & 1st.
As for going out after, while you're down there I would check out THE GALLERY bar. Great crowd, awesome exhibitions on the wall, and the drinks will loosen things up for an interesting night.

i went to this place 'prey' saturday night. it was a $10 cover (the first cover i've paid since being in the city) and it sucked. so don't go there.

on Mott street, Cafe Gitane, i go every sunday for brunch, Sancere White Wine, chicken salad, avocado on 7 grain bread.

Check out La Esquina. MAke a reservation downstairs (you have to enter some half secret door and go throught the kitchen to get to the dining room).
