Google
Cowan’s college friend rented her garage to Sergey and Larry for their first year. In 1999 and 2000 she tried to introduce Cowan to “these two really smart Stanford students writing a search engine”. It's not so much the idea as it is how you present it.
I've been involved in getting seed capital on a few occasions. Take a smooth talker and a business plan for a spagetti farm and he'll have a couppla mill after a week.
Funny read though :)
