Yeah it is odd. Personally, I have no real interest in it. But hten again, may be in another ten years, me and my wife will be curious and look into it. Who knows?
But then again, mybe some of these people are not really fetishists per se, but have let go certain inhibitions, or are just very honest about their desire to sleep with people other than their spouse/partner.

What's even more interesting is that probably one in a million gets turned on by it - what are the chances of finding a significant other who's in to it as well? Those are crazy odds.

jox-
Yes it can as I am told. But couples who get interested in this, and do it for a while, have usually discussed in serious depth what they will and won't do. I get the impression that it's an activity that's a turn on to certain people. The swingers I've met will rarely "sell" anyone else on it.

I agree with jox.
it's so strange. sometimes I think I'd rather a secretive affair.
?

I suppose the concept of jealousy don't apply to the swinger type.

is there a score card?
like in bowling?

(Apr 11 07, 12:07)Haha, sort of, in a way yes.
Different couples look for different things. Like some may want another short term couple to get to gether with for a while. Others limit their swing time to a particular party. It varies.

I'm fascinated by this thing. I think because that sort of thing is so.... private.
I can't imagine how someone can switch just like that. One minute you're a dentist, the next you're grabbing the missus for a little mingling. Next thing you know, chumpchops from new hampshire is getting it on with her.

As I understand it, jox-
Yes, there is usually lots of mingling. Couples usually pre-decide how they want to do things. In a well-run setting, there are established social guidelines for approaching other people, etc.
But everyplace can be a little different.

Do you have to mingle first? Isn't that awkward? What if whatever couple you've eyed out doesn't wanna?

I would imagine these swingers are all horrible looking, huh?

(Apr 11 07, 12:01)Uh, no not always . You'd be surprised actually. The one I am working with is younger and average age is more around 30. The older you go and less metropolitan, the stranger it might get.
I.e, 55 year olds in West Virginia.

Depends on where, and what kind of community. There are clubs dedicated to this lifestyle, so yeah, it costs you. But there are stingent rules.
Smaller parties are like any other party. But the rules and boundaries of how that particular community works apply. You generally don't just show up and grab someone else's wife like caveman and off you go.

So does it cost money for you and your significant other to attend one of these, uh parties? Do they charge by the hour?

Balling Leagues...

Yeah, funny this comes up actually.
My producing partner and I are trying to finish this screenplay that takes place within a swingers community in Boston. I'm in the process of interviewing some of them for more accurate background and stuff. It's really interesting how structured many of the swinger's groups are. They're like bowling leagues.Except with fucking.
