Looks like my 18 months of lucky, free basic cable have come to an end this evening. Half of Chicago seems to get this just by plugging into the cable in the wall and scanning channels.
I am hoping that it's just a glitch.
Can anyone relate?

MrD - when I moved to my own apartment for the first time in october 2005, I didn't order cable and did the same thing as you: made a pact to be more productive, write music and read more, and really get the most out of my netflix membership.
That when right out the door when I let my tv scan channels and found I had it all for free.
The main things I watched were CNN, Daily Show, Colbert, UFC shows on Spike, Discovery, stuff like that.

I watch nearly everything on my laptop now because the TV in my house is almost always occupied.
I do watch lots of television, but I'm fine with it. And I'm fine with watching everything on my laptop.
I still don't use stuff like Joost and other online programming though, because my connection is too slow. I have to download everything beforehand.
One reason why I don't watch anything until the day after it has aired.
