Nice one off story that one, bit like an episode of The Outer Limits or something like that.

after re-reading the secret invasion, i am finding Leinil Yu's art to be somewhat hard to read from panel to panel especially in the last issue. the art is great individually and he really pulled thru in making this book shine so much, but i feel its somewhat scattered from one panel to the next causing a stop in the flow... the art doesnt trully read well as scenes which are being read tend to get sloppy and dont flow from one to the next while still in the same contextual part of that story that is being told... i felt this last issue #8 was rushed and a lot of art which could have sold the story better were not included. this last issue could easily have been pushed into a few more issues to expand the story being told in a better fashion...
as a whole, House of M was the best of the 3 series for me... it showcased a ton of great stories which encompased the entire marvel universe while Civil War and Secret Invasion did not touch on all the other books such as Hulk, which had its own huge story just previous but was never touched upon in the secret war which made things disjointed... if the reader wasnt picking up New Avengers or Mighty Avenger or the Initiative they wouldnt get the full story and this to me is limiting the grand story bendis was trying to say... a lot of loose ends and plot holes... especially with brand new day spider-man... that was a break in continunity as well... to many giant story arc and not enough individual character growth made for secret invasion to be lacking, although it had very strong art and writing backing it up in the main title...
meh...
i still say pick it up... and try to get as much of the side stories as you can, the book Frontline does this very well telling the story from the regualr person's point of view instead of a hero/ villian.
good stuff all around and way better than anything DC has going on with their main books which btw are still delayed...

Interesting, I'll be buying it when it's out after New Year.
House of M has been my favourite of the big arc stories too - the side books were really good for that one. I especially loved the Hulk story with him living with the aborigines.
