Don't think that other one is really a rip, more coincidence... not a lot to play with with really is there

(Apr 4 07, 05:09)Agreed, with all those vertical strokes seems an obvious solution typographically!

never seen it on its own in my 10 years of involvement with the mill... perhaps i was mistaken...
stick think it is one of the best logos out there

this type of work is much easier to do as well so the heads begin to think they can get great quality work in less and less time .. leaving you with no choice but to scan up a logo book .. change a couple of items and turn it in by EOD just to keep your job.

seems like this conversation comes about once or twice a week. our pool or original work must be down to it's last few evaporations.
when i say original i mean that it doesn't match another design in more than 2 or 3 departments (line, shape, texture, color, font, contrast)
baskerville .. if it bothers you i'd move on. you need to be with designers you respect.

I don't think it's a rip personally. Liek Mime said there ain't that much to work with. More a coincedence.
On the note of interviews. I have only ever walked away from one (shall remain nameless) but a well known place. Plus a certain bigwig in the industry told a mate of mine that he never had a chance in London cause he turned down a placement at the respective agency.
There are very few gancies that do truly original work Johnson Banks being one. I can only name a handful that sound like they will fulfill your requirements. Either bite the bullet or go it alone....
Gd Lk though and let us know how you do
D!!

interestingly enough I have loads of masters from the mill in my library and on it's own I had no idea what it meant even when I was signing for tapes from the mill, it took somebody to actually point it out to me like what that bozo kon23 said, after I was shown what it read I actually thikn it is great but before that I didn't even register that it was readable or even a logo.
I only like it because it is clever that is all.

so its shown in a site with lots of work... I'm talking about if it is shown on a tape bag or out of context...
- 23kon0
don't think they ever show it on its own. that'll be the guidelines for you.

-------its on its own on the top left of their site!
"The Mill" under it is meant to be "homepage" in the navigation, thats not part of the logo/identity
