Haha, ask LR Sweden. They're ditching them to make room for the 08s! 20k off sticker!

That’s on my short list for my new ride once my insurance drops in September.
I guess the oheight will be, heh.
Okay it won’t, it’ll be the 20K off sticker price ‘07, haha.

lol jox. i know what you mean...i drive responsibly and chose to work a mile away from home, so even though mine's a whale i do what i can.
otherwise choose designated, easy trails and take it easy til your comfortable.
where are you located?
here are pix from one of last year's moab trips...ours is the one w/the busted diff guard (pic towards bottom). our friend scott's has a crazy lift.

right on flavorful. it's hard to drop 45k on a 10 year-old rig w/50k+ miles on it, isn't it? i still love them and one of these days will find the right one.
i wish they'd still import them :\

Yea, I’d hope my friends would attempt an intervention, hahah.

Holy shit sputnik, that's awesome!!!
And really inspiring too! I'm in Sweden where offroading is a pretty difficult hobby in the sense that there are basically nowhere to do it. At least nowhere near as cool as that!

aaw i wish you were closer. we'd go w/you...such fun.
if you ever have questions, need help modifying anything or tips for trying out trails, let me know. i'm a trail leader w/an off-road LR club here in colorado and can try to help even if from here ;)
congrats...that's a great rig!
- jox0
Wow, thank you - I had no idea!! That's super cool!!
I might take you up on that, this is a whole new area for me seeing as my previous experience with car hobbies are pretty much sticky tires on closed tracks! Not so much when there are mountains and rocks in the way :)

And that's another thing - all off roaders seem like incredibly friendly people. Got off the phone with the head of the scandinavian off road club a while ago and had a long talk about joining some sort of beginners course.
None of that "I'm faster than you" stuff I usually encounter practising motor hobbies...

you'll notice a huge difference...we're also part bmwcca and it's much more competitive. off-roaders roll easy and are out to have a safe, good time. there's always the occasional jerk who pushes ppl to do something they aren't comfortable with, but it's rare.
we had our disco for 4 years and went camping etc before really starting wheeling. take your time, get a book of local trails and do beginning/easy trails for a long time. there's no rush and it should always be fun, not stressful.
make sure you have adequate recovery gear and tools and a winch are a must if you ride alone. finding a friend who has more experience and who you can go w/alone really takes pressure off too. you can make mistakes and get help, but not feel toolish about it ;)

Thanks a ton, a winsh is already mounted up front :)
I just ordered a couppla books, "Offroading" by Tom Morris is one of them - you know it?
- -sputnik-0
i haven't...is it good. we have a few books but they're mostly detailed descriptions of our local trails. they're very helpful since not much is marked here and you can get lost easily:

Cool stuff! I take it they only focus on your trails and not so much.. the basics?
What's interesting is that it has the same principle skiing / snowboarding does, from what I've learned so far. Same thrill by doing the impossible. Not to mention not going at it alone...
Surely being from Colorado you must know what I mean :)

i am heartbroken by this news. i really wanted you to get that house.
but, in other news, i have been a wheelin' person since i was about 8. my first car i got was the 1965 CJ5 my father and I restored to factory spec, which he has owned since it was new in '65.
call me....

Thanks buddy! Me too - but there are other fish in the sea (maybe not with 4+1 car garages though).
I had no idea there were offroaders on NT. You gotta come over man, I'll let you try a V10 2-door with Audi nav :) Just got a Tubi exhaust, you wouldn't believe the roar.
