you'll notice a huge difference...we're also part bmwcca and it's much more competitive. off-roaders roll easy and are out to have a safe, good time. there's always the occasional jerk who pushes ppl to do something they aren't comfortable with, but it's rare.
we had our disco for 4 years and went camping etc before really starting wheeling. take your time, get a book of local trails and do beginning/easy trails for a long time. there's no rush and it should always be fun, not stressful.
make sure you have adequate recovery gear and tools and a winch are a must if you ride alone. finding a friend who has more experience and who you can go w/alone really takes pressure off too. you can make mistakes and get help, but not feel toolish about it ;)
