also:
who is buying the design bundle versus the web bundle?
i want design premium, but some people i work with sometimes use fireworks, so i might have to get the web premium plus indesign seperate...
they should just charge 50$'s per app or something...

I think I'm going to design bundle plus flash separately
old dreamweaver is ok for me and I haven't opened fireworks in years

They really need a package that is a combination of the Web Premium and Design Premium packages for studios/freelancers who do both Web and Print. Then it would offer the same software we used to get buying CS and Studio individually (back in better days of competition).

does anyone know how often adobe is planning to release upgrades like this? seems like i bought cs2 not very long ago.

Adobe always updates every couple years. This one might be a bit sooner than average for 2 reasons:
1. Create native code for Mac-Intel computers
2. Properly integrate all their recently acquired Macromedia products.

Is there actually an 'education version'? I thought there was only education pricing?
ribit
(Mar 27 07, 05:22)It's a full version feature-wise, but with some software (hopefully not adobe) you cannot upgrade this version. When I open my Illustrator is says "Educational Version" or something like that, but thats the only difference.

i think the relatively small amount of time between 2 and 3 is due to the intel chip matching the adobe programming

(Mar 27 07, 05:57)me too. though i don't think it will ever happen. i think if i move out of this job i'd like to go more toward packaging and print. i am more and more impressed with web design these days though.

(Mar 27 07, 06:02)Hahah yea, I’ve been saying/typing that for quite some time now, haha.
Print and Packaging seem cool though.
I’m stuck in a training rite now about .NET 3.0.
...
The more I delve deeper into almost becoming strictly an engineer the more I want to run from it, hahaa.

Flash was more my thing when Flash 5 was out. I got into MX a little, but at that point I had finished college and all my "free time" was long gone.

From adobe.com
"*Upgrade pricing is available only for products listed above and requires a qualifying previous product on the same platform, with serial number. Upgrades for volume and education licensing are handled separately. "
So i guess you can update edu versions, but not sure what the "separately" entails.

:p
did a lot of research into your time capsuled culture up there .. though i have never seen it first hand.
i do wish adobe would work out the real time information of the character palette in photoshop .. why won't it keep the correct information for a font without double clicking.
