Hey. Couple of my work mates were just on about something, though I'd share it with the group.
They were saying that the years from around 26 to 30 are pretty tough. You feel cheated, not sure about where you're life's going and like everything's uncertain. Relationships beak up and things suck.
I'm 25. Is this true? Do I have this to come?

if you are 25 with no relationship or job prospects and living at home with your mom, then yes, the next 5 years are going to suck. however, if you are successful and happy with the direction your life is headed in, then i see no reason for this happiness to not continue.

yes that happens to everyone without fail. you cannot prepare enough to prevent this affliction

I'm in that range – and enjoying it!
Thast generalizing rubbish. The whole run, 0–hopefully-110 is what you make of it. And everyone will experience different things at different times...
Any claims to some rule of thumb for 26–30 isn't worth the bytes spent typing this.

it's true, but between 25-75.

haha... maybe
it's got its own wikipedia page so it could be the real thing

Yes, set your watch. t-minus 8,765.81277 hours till disillusionment.

eh? 16-25.. that's teh struggle.
26-30 are prime years; good sense of self, financially stable, possibly still playing the field... best times imo.
and my 30s are so far so good... as they say; 30s are the new 20s.

I'm 28, single and still have no idea what direction to go in, or even what country to stay in. But it's no big deal. Things will work themselves out.

i was having a similar conversation with my flatmates father, and he imparted some words of wisdom.. "you're only as old as the girls you're having sex with."

Well I'm alright where I am then. I'm not living at home and I have a job doing what I wanted.....I just thought it was funny when four people all strangely agreed on something and looked all puzzled....like they'd just figured something out.
Like when you discover a plot twist on Lost.

fucking hell, i don't even exist in that case.

that was in response to acescene's flatmates fathers advice by the way.

the 'mid-mid-life crisis'.
the trick is to learn not to judge yourself and your own successes against other people's.

Using age as any kind of yardstick by which to measure "where you should be at" will almost always result in depression.
I'm almost 30, but i feel like I am 19 most of the time. I hope that lasts.

(Mar 20 07, 07:34)Your other 30 year old mates probably think you're a dick most of the time then. ;)

it happens after high school and can happen to anyone....or NOT happen. life has speed bumps. learn to drive and avoid the speed humps or no how to take them. Like driving a car, the older you get the slowerr and better you get at it. It becomes second nature.
