she's said that she needs a few days (weeks?) just to get to the point where she will at least me talk about it but nothing good can come of it. at this point it seems like no matter what i say or do won't work for her but that's not the way i feel.

(Mar 19 07, 14:24)in my experience, the waiting for some time and reconvening goes like this. One person wants out but is too flustered by their own feelings to be able to think clearly. The other person wants to hang on so they wait and plan. They get together to talk things out and whatever happens, its usually just a prolonged heartache for both parties until one or both get fed up and move on.
I say skip the whole process. Take the leap and just tell her it won't be necessary. Good luck with everything but you've got more worthwhile pursuits to entertain.
It hurts, there's uncertainty, and it sucks. None of this changes the fact that its only temporary and despite how you're probably feeling, you will in fact meet someone new.
