I seriously meet people every day and hear about jobs every day. Networking is easy even if you're lazy.

but where can you get beer a corner away at any time of day/night, and order in breakfast at 3am?
not that that's always a good thing haha.

to say you can find the same type of opportunity in the midwest or in smaller cities is totally false. i find new ones every day.

(Mar 17 07, 19:40)^personal speculation only, i can completely disagree with this statement wholeheartedly

i remember that day...
and a new thread was created saying it was the mud and that is was happy that you both were happily crying but you were crushing it...
i remember because i anthologised it which we will see again [at] qbn [dot] com.good times!!
i wish you luck if you make the move, and not much mud here, but dont step on the manhole covers, sometimes they explode and sometimes they shock!! gotta love it!!

eric...
amazing job ops...just so you know there may not be any...meaning it may be bettter than where you are but in the end of the day you might be paying a higher rent thus your cost of living is not worth it, but to live here in nyc means that since you may just be living pay check to pay check in the beginning that you will succede if you keep doing it here, over somewhere else where there isnt so many opportunities. everyday is hard, every action or in-action has its good and bads, i feel great jobs will yeald a success only if the person has the strength to keep going as yes it is tough here there everyehere. not just nyc, but since we have so much and so many different kinds of people here the possibilities are endless, but you have to constantly be here to do it if here is where you want to succede over succeding in atlanta.
good luck either way, but i feel you can get a stronger learning advantage when you are surrounded by more and different kinds of people. which is what nyc is a place for all people to grow where opportunities are everywhere, you just have to be there to grab it.
look us up when you come around and lets have a drink or smoke or what ever...
[oh btw...was it you that proposed to your wife in the forest in the mud, and the mud told you to get off as you were crushing the mud?? if so i will never forget that moment on nt]

Thanks for all the great feedback friends.
I am interested for sure, depending on if an AMAZING job opp was there.. I would not be moving to be cool, etc. It's all about my career right now. I work at RazorFish here in Atlanta, and I want to stay on the same level of work, etc. NY seems to be a hub for a lot of great places...

^ obvious statement of the day!

I think it would be a good idea to save up / have lots of money before living there.

no it definitely is not for everyone, and that was my point exactly that each individual would need to experience it for themselves first hand...
you need to really see the vibe yourself and see how it can blend with you as an individual to yourself only...
i say though everyone who is interested in it should definitely make a trip and try it.
good luck!!
