You're better off spending your time in front of your home computer making spec comps to put in a portfolio. There are so many idiots working in this industry these days that as long as you have half a brain, know how to speak, know how to present yourself, and won't creep out all the females in the office there's a job out there for you. An internship is only going to make you develop a hatred for people higher up than you in a job environment since you're going to be treated like a slave, getting coffee and lunch for "creatives" who just hang out so they can use the wifi connection and play XBOX. I made the mistake of getting an internship right out of college and it was a complete waste of time, money and energy.

i offered to work for free once because i was such a fan of the studio. but actually on reflection i think it's wrong for studios to take people on for free. when i used to be a photographers' assistant years ago they paid me hardly anything but rich kids would come in and offer to work for free and it kinda sucked cos i simply couldn't afford to work for free.
