Doh. It was doing so well until now. Running Photoshop CS2 only and it will spike up to 70 C and the Growl alert comes on. I knew they ran hot, but overheating alerts ain't good.
I'll take it to the Apple store...anyone else go through this?
Thanks.

Is it lying flat? Do you have it on an iCurve or anything that gets the MBP up and off the desk?
I'm running at 72 C right now and it's fine.
Hmmm....

orkman. If the MBP is flat on your desk look into buying one of these.

It will help get air flow under the MBP which might cool it down a bit. Or, you may have a defect. :(

thats a nifty too but wouldnt that kill the fan in long run?
- czawada0
Why would it kill the fan?... the fan is meant to run, is it not?
- ********0
no but if you crank it
its like over clocking your cpu, it will run but life span will be shortened

Ok thanks everyone, yes it is flat on a table at work and at home.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Hehe lvl_13 I see your point, it's just that I have had it for 4 months and it never overheated. It just started having problems yesterday. So thought I would see if people found solutions to it. Which they have!
