Check the link for more detail but the net of the problem is that when I try to import certain files into FCP I get an Unknown File error but they open in Quicktime and iMovie. If anyone has any info as to why and how I can fix it I'd be ever so grateful. Thanks.

arre you sure it's not fcp that is the problem? i've never run across that problem but it seems as if all file formats will not work...which doesn't make any sense...which makes me think it is fcp.
reinstall? i know, lame right.

I've had the problem before on a different machine, and it seems that others are having the issue as well. Best $1300 I ever spent.
