please tell me how a freelancer can honestly feel valid in charging $6,000 for 3 front page mockups.
jesus christ. that's saying making 3 stupid designs is equivalent to getting a decent used car.
every single one of you know the effort it takes into making a relatively unflashy (as in no flash) layout is not that fucking hard.
it seems like everyone in every industry charges assloads for work that deep down, is really not that freaking hard to do.

jesus, yeah that's a little high. Who's doing it, Jacob Neilson or 2A?

this just in, somebody gets paid more than qruise! qruise isn't happy. in fact qruise looks like he is about to cry. oh wait, no, he is now crying.

what is your point? should we charge $100?
- ********0
depends on the client/context and the complexity. If the client is enormous and using the design in multiple markets then 6k isnt really steep.

was that the quote or the final bill?
- version30
and how i feel validated is i did the work, now pay the bill
u as a client = crap

sounds like somebody needs to call kinkos for their design needs...

dude im talkiing about smalltown busineses.
the car wash across the street for example shouldnt be paying 6 fucking grand for 3 mockups by ANYONE.
work is not that fucking hard to do.
pepsi? charge them a buck million, they have more money than they can throw at shit.

shit, I would add 2k and your first born daughter.

why not? all we can do is try. i've worked for 810$/day last week, which is much for me
- version30
they should pay for whatever they hired
if i hire an award winning architect firm to design my $75,000 house but they charge 100k for the design, well that's my fault for not shopping around for something more to my liking

i though you guys would be loving those sort of rates....

qruise-
why not push the "design page" button yrself if it's so durn easy?

the reality of hiring a freelancer is yes they will charge more but its more like a one time fee, rather than having a hired designer on a full time basis and payout a salary plus benefits.
so in the end of the day if a freelancer charges 6k to do 3 pages of work, yes its a bit excessive but its only paid once.
thats a very large difference from working as a freelancer to someone working fulltime.
