fix it, sell it, get a new one. I hat cars that have been in accidents... they have broken souls.

Of all things be thankful it wasn't a bloody moose. You'd most likely be dead for sure.
Just be thankful overall, sometimes those deer get clipped the right way and fly right through the windshield taking you out too. You got off lucky. Have a beer!

Thanks ETM - infact those exact thoughts were running through my mind right after it happened. I've seen moose around these areas before ... they are freakin enormous!!
I'm half way through this bottle of Merlot now. I have to do something about these nerves.....

yeah. That stinks man. Lucky you are not hurt. I grew up in Maine, and have lost two cars. One to a moose, and one to a deer. Asshole animals.,

never seen so many maine references in an NT thread! :)
they are gnarly animals- jox you are lucky for not being more injured. i have come w/in 1 or 2 meters from hitting both a deer and a bear. never a moose, although seen several while driving cross the road.

(Mar 9 07, 10:24)Buy a lottery ticket my friend... you're pretty lucky yourself to be here. I have a friend from eastern Canada who has lost 2 family members to moose on the highways over the years... a cousin and uncle.

Jesus... I have to hit the highway this weekend and now I am paranoid... excuse me a moment...

Is the deer alright?

as a teenager, I went four wheelin up in Maine one night, and we saw a moose and chased it in the truck down a trail. All the time guzzling beer (waiting for redneck references....and rightly so) and woohoo'ing. Well, after about 200 yeards, the poor thing just dropped. Turns out, moose can have a heart attack real easily, and I guess this guy did. Felt terrible...still do.

Just be glad no one got injured besides the deer.

Glad you're okay, man. I used to live in Michigan, and there was a pretty high fatality rate for people that hit deer.
My buddy hit one once, and it only skimmed his headlight, thankfully. He said he got out of the car expecting more damage, but the deer just nipped it. Unfortunately, it scared the shit out of the deer, literally. His car had a racing stripe down the side of deer poop.

I'm not an advocate for the Deer Whistle™... My friend had one on his hood, and we hit a deer anyways... The kicker is that the deer broke the whistle off of the car... I mean, it was a direct hit.
