Haha. I'm kinda over the domain name thing now... I was hoping for useful advice on hosts etc.
Thanks for being so fucking helpful, I thought it might be a bad idea being honest and posting my name on here.
1-0 to the 'professionals'... I'm so fucking glad I'm not American.

huh?
please 'splain what's wrong Steven
- HumanMale0
'Steven' isn't my name for a start.
Maybe you've caught me at a bad time, who knows...

did you just register both of those domains?
- HumanMale0
Well it wasn't me was it...

Serious suggestion off hte top of my head:
SRFND.com ??
- HumanMale0
I kinda like that...
Hell, keep going... give flavorful more ideas so he can waste more of his money.

I register my domains through freeparking.co.uk as it lets me edit the dns settings easily so I can point to whatever hosting account I want to use. It's reasonably cheap for registration.
As for hosting, until I signed up to a MT grid server account, I used web-mania.com as it's £25 for a year and decent enough but now I just host everything on MT and point the domains to that. Much less hassle.
As for the domain name issue .. I'd say if your actual name is available, buy it anyway. It's always useful unless like me you share a name with the drummer from Styx in which case you're going to have to do a bit of work to beat that in SEO terms ...
If you're a DJ but don't have a DJ name, I'd suggest figuring out a name and going with that if it's available?

123reg.co.uk to register (totally autmated and easy to use)
MT – discount on here a while back
As for domain, what is you middle initial?

(Feb 28 07, 01:10)Stupid idea off the top of my head:
Randy Fjord . com ???
- HumanMale0
Thanks jamble, appreciate the reply.
I'll check out those suggestions.
As far as DJ names go, I think they are a bit cheesy, I'd much rather use my real name but I'm going to have trouble doing that seeing as some twat has already registered it.
- HumanMale0
123-reg.co.uk seems pretty decent, think I'll go with them. The hosting seems pretty good too.
- Bottlerocket0
Just a couple of recomendations for you:
I use UKreg for domain registration for some reason.
For hosting I would take look at: DSVR.co.uk
The exact package depends on what will suit you best in terms of multiple domains, email accounts, hosting platform..and of course, price.

Cheers Bottlerocket... I'll check it out when I've got a second to read it all properly :)

flavorful, that is about the most cockended thing I have witnessed.
I hope you are busy wrapping those domains in nice paper, hiding a bikini babe in the parcel and fedExing them to the man, otherwise yer a spudNut.
- HumanMale0
I trust people's opinions and values, post my name for some serious suggestions and a joker has to go and do that... Hmmm.
Oh well, QBN have been informed, I'm sure it will be resolved :)

Has everyone lost their sense of humour?! hahaha.
Read my posts and try not to laugh, it's hilarious.
Dick ... yes.
Am I dick? ... yes.
Funny? ... Well to me it was.
Look, I always think it is stupid for someone to post potential domain names on an open website.
And guess what?
It is.
It is really stupid, hahah.
Here's a novel idea... e-mail me, or instead of calling me a twat and that you're glad you're not American (like I represent the entire nation, haha) say you'd like them or whatever in the thread, haha.
I'm pretty sure a lot of people know me on here, and know that for pretty much all the dick things I do and say, I'm actually a nice person (well ... that may be stretching it, haha).
On second thought, the American comment isn't far off I guess ... because technically what I did was entrepreneurialism in action.
:P

I did see the funny side of it, at first... but the more I think about it the more it pisses me off. That's not your fault, it's mine – I can't help the way it makes me feel, but still, it doesn't make it right.
So... for what's it's worth:
Can I have my domain names back please?
:)
