So far we've told her family but not mine.
We have the child care thing pretty well figured out. She'll take off as long as possible from work. She works at a hospital and they have excellent child care (discounted for employees of course) so that works out nicely.

everyone gives you clothes for the first 6 months- its all cute and snappy- but not used much. You'll really need clothes at 12 mos and later. When you see how big the clothes are you won't believe the baby will ever fit but s/he will and fast.

OMG, congratulations!
Babies are annoying, yet cute and every now and then you'll look at him/her and be amazed.
I don't know how I know this stuff, but it's obvious. I'll be waiting a good 9 years before I have a baby though...

congratulations!!! i have about one month before my first baby is born and i would say that sputnik is right about being patient with her bladder and to enjoy stomach sleeping while she still can. the bladder thing is a real bitch, and it only gets worse as time goes by! also get your wife one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Leachco-In… i swear if i didn't have one i would NEVER sleep.

Advice: go to the movies a lot. You know, you'll still go to rock shows, concerts etc. regardless. you'll get a babysit for that. I find you don't do that just to go to the movies.
