(Feb 17 07, 13:10)actually logic and reason are waaaaaaaaay different.
reason is a more compact solution, everything you need is there if you want to start making some beats or just playing around.
I would not recomend logic to someone who just wants to "try to make some beats every now and then".

(Feb 18 07, 00:04)why dont you try ableton?
it's really easy to understand for the begginer, and it good enough to satisfy the needs of a pro.download the demo, you'll see..

don't start with live. it doesn't surprise me it was mentioned first. hugely intuitive and basically one of a kind, great peice of software of any variety.

(Feb 18 07, 10:53)you mean do start with live, right?
it just seems to me (from the sites) that reason has more functions and the interface is nice. would live have similar features?
- M0NEYCIDE0
hahah yeah...
don't, start with live...is what I meant.
Live is fully featured from recording, production and live performance basically where as reason is great for beats electric stuff like techno, trance, hip hop, sample base stuff or watever. so is live but reason is more speciallized and you can record like a full DAW in live, then edit sample, beat match and go off on fxs

i just read that reason cannot record audio, does that mean i can record external instruments like mic and guitar?
- M0NEYCIDE0
yeah in live you can...man this is confusing
- usrper0
right. i meant "cannot"
