Yeah this has been around for a while. People do it to be jackasses because no one can really question you on it...
No one will be like... HOW DARE YOU COUGH AT SO AND SO!! You can just be like fuck you I had something in my throat.
Whereas if you were to laugh or make a rude gesture people will think you're being VERY disrespectful.
