Really want to get an a
Apple 23" cinema display, think I should buy now or wait a couple of months untill they bring out new ones?I heard that they are due an upgrade this year. Heard anything about this yourself?

I've always heard that the 23" aren't as good as 20" or 30"--don't knowe if this is currently relevant

i heard that new ones are coming out in april
with glossy screen

I think i've heard rumblings of apple kicking the 23" for a 24" model. They are also rumored to be adding iSights to them. Might as well wait if you can.

yeah think I will, the glossy screen on the Macbooks are pretty cool.
Think i'll wait a while then...

glossy = deeper color but BAD for reflection

i do not see why people like the glossy screens. they are terrible at reflecting things and keeping fingerprints.

it does make stuff like iphoto and idvd look cool as, not as good if doin pro work i guess

yes, get the cinema! i have a 30" and 23" setup and loooove it...

Is the 23" ok for designing A3 at 100% with room still left on the screen for a couple of photoshop, indesign pallettes?

The Apple displays are really sharp, but I have 2 20" widescreens, one at work and one at home and I can't see myself working on anything different. My goal is to buy the 24" widescreen for my home office this year. It's so much cheaper than the Apple display (I'm running the Dells on MBPs btw) and it's literally the same screen. If the Apples come with iSight that would be cool, but is it really worth all the extra cash? Fuck I love Apple stuff but the coin to buy it is crazy.
If anything go to the "Deals" section and look for a refurb one a few months after they come out.

seems like it may be a little tight mirrorball...i'd rather have 2 20" cinemas than 1 23"

Aye Gabe, I have a 19" LCD from LG for Pallettes, was just being greedy and wanting to use the same screen again, for protcting the ole eyes.
Lovin your work by the way! Life Aquatic comps looked great, fussy gits!

Get two of those new Samsung SyncMasters, the Apple's are older technology now. Or wait for the new Apple displays.
